AutoCAD Raster Design is aimed at those who work with scanned drawings. The program is an add-on to AutoCAD – not on AutoCAD LT. The course deals with handling monochrome drawings (black and white).

You'll learn how to scale and adjust the scanned drawing in AutoCAD to get it closer to the right measurements – in 1:1 – than ever before. You will learn how to clean the drawings of coffee stains and other impurities and clean up indistinct areas of the drawing. The parts of the drawing to be edited can optionally be turned into vector data that can then be processed with AutoCAD commands. It will also be discussed how AutoCAD Raster Design allows you to edit directly in the raster’s without first having to vectorizing. Finally, we review how you can work with text vectorization, as well as how to work with several scanned drawings simultaneously and copy data between them.

The course is aimed at users who have an archive of scanned, old, hand-drawn drawings that you wish to edit electronically.

Objective

The course goes through the basic principles, the difference between the scanned drawings and the vector-based AutoCAD drawings, and how to combine these two formats most optimally.
